South West Hertfordshire Liberal Democrats select Susan Gaszczak as their PPC5.38.26pm GMT Wed 19th Dec 2007
On being selected, Susan said : 'It is a great pleasure to have been selected to represent the communities of South West Hertfordshire. I am looking forward to working with the local party, visiting and talking to as many residents as possible between now and the General Election, and building on our strong local position. 'Gordon Brown missed out on his opportunity to have a snap election while his ratings were good. Now many Labour supporters have seen that he is not all he has made himself out to be, they are beginning to see us as the alternative.' Chris Brearley, chairman of the local party said 'Susan is the person that the people of this area need to represent them in Parliament; she is an excellent choice as Parliamentary candidate.' Susan Gaszczak is a life long Liberal Democrat. She grew up in Richmond upon Thames where she was a party activist. Her career has been in the retail industry. After completing her family Susan stood for election in Bedfordshire where she is currently the Deputy Leader of the Opposition.
