Scarborough and Whitby Liberal Democrats re-selected Tania Exley-Moore as their Prospective Parliamentary Candidate on Saturday.

She was selected after a hustings of shortlisted candidates and was given the overwhelming support of the local party to continue in the role as PPC.

Tania doubled the Lib Dem vote in the constituency in last year's General Election and was a key factor in Labour's losing the seat. She will now be working hard to build on this success and to demonstrate how Scarborough and Whitby can benefit from having a Lib Dem MP.

Commenting on her re-selection, Tania said "Our key priority is next year's Borough Elections, where we plan to increase the number of Lib Dem Councillors on the Council. Then we have to prepare for a General Election that could even be as early as next October".

Tania was born and raised in the constituency and and is a Lecturer at Scarborough Sixth Form College. She has a six year old son, Harry.
