Conference Training plan unveiled

The GBTF has again produced a full Conference training plan for the Blackpool Conference. 16 sessions including speech making, leadership and presenting a positive image are planned, making the GBTF one of the largest training providers at Federal Conference.

In response to the time in the Parliamentary cycle, the GBTF training team have focused on Approval, Selection and planning for your political future, and will be working with a number of new trainers to build up the dedicated team who train throughout the year.

Candy Piercy, Vice Chair of the GBTF, comments ''It's vital that women are given every opportunity to develop existing skills and learn new skills. This will help them to identify the right parliamentary constituency for them. Their next step is to go on and win their selection .

GBTF is providing specific training and support at the Blackpool Conference to help women with areas such as public speaking, writing literature for a selection campaign, and presenting a positive image.

More specific help is available for women who already know where they want to be. We will assist them in writing a personal development plan which will help them achieve their political objectives.

Our training is also of great value to many women in the Party, who like me, do not want to pursue a Parliamentary career. The skills they learn will help them to succeed in whatever role they decide suits them best. This could be anything from being a top agent through to

being an excellent local councillor."

In addition the Personal Development Plan has been relaunched. The Plan enables women to identify the career path within the Party that they would like to follow, and by working through it with a dedicated mentor, each woman can identify the skills needed to achieve success in her chosen target.
