Debbie Enever - the Lib Dem choice for Chatham and Aylesford

Chatham and Aylesford Liberal Democrats have chosen local campaigner Debbie Enever to be their candidate at the next General Election. At a packed meeting last week, local members backed Debbie who won 85% of the vote.

Debbie said: "I am thrilled to have been chosen to stand in Chatham and Aylesford for the Liberal Democrats. Jonathan Shaw and his Labour cronies promised much in 1997 but have not delivered. The Tories remain disillusioned and unprepared for Government - we all know they won't win here"

Debbie has lived in Chatham since she got married and is active locally, running her local Neighbourhood Watch group and church youth group. She cares passionately about getting more young people to vote.

"The Liberal Democrats offer a fair deal for everyone - we would abolish the council tax, abolish tuition fees and provide free care for the elderly. I look forward to showing the people of Chatham and Aylesford that there is a credible alternative to Labour here in Chatham and Aylesford."
